Greetings fellow Clubbies. Well, it’s February already and as I look around the world I feel gratitude – despite the yo-yoing of NZ Covid lock-downs – that I live in Godzone, where insurrections don’t happen and where we don’t, as a first-world country, have a third-world electricity supply grid.

Greetings fellow Clubbies and happy New Year. By this time, as Cadets, we would have been either searching for the tin of tartan blanco our wonderfully caring seniors instructed all the new snots to find, or we were back in harness as seniors or veterans trying hard not to forget what happened during Xmas leave.

December greetings, fellow Clubbies. Well, 2020 will certainly be a year we will be looking forward to seeing the last of.

Hello one and all. Well, here we are three-quarters of the way through 2020 and if you are like me, you are wishing this annus horribilis (note carefully the spelling of “annus”) was well and truly over.

Greetings fellow Clubbies. If you know the original of this verse and you were a calendar-watcher like me, you knew that we were now two-thirds of the way through our Cadet year and that counting down the days to Grad had become a major daily task.

Having been raised in an Anzac country, I’ve never been able to resist images of poppies, so when I read that the birthday flowers for August are the poppy and gladiolus, I went looking.

Happy RF Cadet School 72nd birthday anniversary month – the School was formally established on 15 July 1948!
